Network Architects design, implement and maintain networking and data communication systems, including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). They ensure secure data transfer and optimal network performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement functional networks, including LAN, WAN, and VPN
  • Configure network hardware like routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Monitor network performance and optimize network speed and reliability
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and solve network-related issues
  • Create and maintain network documentation and diagrams
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in network architecture
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers

Requirements:

  • Expertise in network design and implementation, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Experience in network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex network issues and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with network management tools and technologies, such as SNMP, NetFlow, and Wireshark.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, and relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIE.
