Trade Compliance Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing industry and regulatory updates and preparing information for sharing with internal and external customers;
- Other assigned tasks including training new employees etc;
- Working with internal stakeholders to provide expertise on cross border inquiries;
- Working with Purolator customers to simplify cross border shipping. This includes travelling to customer location for onsite meetings and consultation;
- Building and maintaining client product database;
- Responding to external inquiries from customers and other brokers.
Requirements:
- CCS, CTCS, LCB or equivalent certification;
- Must be fluent in both offical languages (French and English);
- Excellent customer service skills;
- High Proficiency on MS Office applications;
- College Degree – Certification from a recognized institution. Membership in professional institution that promotes continuous learning is an asset;
- Extensive knowledge of the HTSUS and tariff classifications and rating;
- Expert knowledge of the Customs Clearance process;
- Extensive knowledge of US Customs regulations (19CFR);
- More than 5 years’ experience working it the customs brokerage industry.
