Fundraising Professional Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Fundraising Professional to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them;
- Undertake special projects or other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director;
- Create marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes;
- Respond to routine requests for information, documentation and clarification with tact and discretion primarily via e-mail;
- Establish work priorities in consultation with the Executive Director on a weekly basis;
- Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved;
- Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities;
- Report and document outcomes of such special projects or tasks;
- Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis;
- Work with the Executive Assistant, as required;
- Raise funds for our cause and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets;
- Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organization;
- Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications.
Requirements:
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to build new and long-term relationships with prospects, donors and volunteers;
- Proven record of successfully soliciting and closing gifts, as well as managing individual giving programs;
- Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency requirements for operating as a charity including record keeping, receipting;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and data management;
- Post-secondary education;
- Able to work with little supervision;
- Experience working with volunteers who are primarily board directors;
- Demonstrated experience using ProDon or equivalent systems for tracking donor segmentation, reporting and follow up for donors, prospects;
- Minimum two years fundraising experience in a not-for-profit.
