Our company is looking for a Fundraising Professional to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them;
  • Undertake special projects or other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director;
  • Create marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes;
  • Respond to routine requests for information, documentation and clarification with tact and discretion primarily via e-mail;
  • Establish work priorities in consultation with the Executive Director on a weekly basis;
  • Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved;
  • Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities;
  • Report and document outcomes of such special projects or tasks;
  • Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis;
  • Work with the Executive Assistant, as required;
  • Raise funds for our cause and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets;
  • Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organization;
  • Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual (French and English) is an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to build new and long-term relationships with prospects, donors and volunteers;
  • Proven record of successfully soliciting and closing gifts, as well as managing individual giving programs;
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency requirements for operating as a charity including record keeping, receipting;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and data management;
  • Post-secondary education;
  • Able to work with little supervision;
  • Experience working with volunteers who are primarily board directors;
  • Demonstrated experience using ProDon or equivalent systems for tracking donor segmentation, reporting and follow up for donors, prospects;
  • Minimum two years fundraising experience in a not-for-profit.
