ux/ui designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a ux/ui designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze the usability of new and existing products and provide suggestions for change;
- Facilitate our clients’ product visions by researching, ideating, sketching, and testing high-quality user experiences for digital products;
- Continually improve keeping yourself and your design team updated with the latest techniques and tools in UX design;
- Be responsible for advocating for users in a fast-paced business climate;
- Present and rationalize your design decisions based on design theory and usability research;
- Collaborate with the development team on outlining user flows and prototyping initial wireframes;
- Develop high-level and detailed user stories, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas;
- Design new features and workflows, and refine what is already in place so that it meets customers’ needs and is easy to use;
- Define the user model and user interface for new and existing products;
- Take smart risks and champion new ideas;
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features;
- Attend brainstorming sessions with the Product team/Squads where ideas are white-boarded and discussed before moving on to fully designed solutions;
- Produce intuitive and beautiful user interfaces for web, mobile, iOS and desktop applications;
- Research, wireframe, design, and refine user experiences within specified product requirements and timeframes;
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Requirements:
- Three or more years of UI and UX design experience and a track record of excellence as demonstrated in your body of work;
- Bachelor’s degree;
- At least 1-2 years experience in UI/UX design;
- Can work both autonomously and with others;
- Ability to consider company goals, user research, and complex flows to create clean and simple UIs;
- A post-secondary education studying design and applying it to digital products including apps and websites;
- Expertise in UX software such as InVision, Sketch or Adobe XD;
- Experience with HTML/CSS best practices a bonus;
- Experience working for a SaaS company;
- Understanding of HTML and CSS. (You don’t need to write code);
- Experience working with UI frameworks, such as Bootstrap or Foundation;
- 2+ years experience in a similar role is a must;
- Experience working with a design system or component library;
- Experience with React.js, Angular, JIRA, git, and Adobe XD;
- Proficiency with design tools (Sketch, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, etc.).
