Junior Technical Artist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Junior Technical Artist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Create all sorts of rigging solutions for environmental assets and character bodies and faces;
- Collaborate effectively with other team disciplines, predominantly animation, character art, and code;
- Bring innovation and resolution to technical problems and challenges throughout production;
- Interact closely with animators and technical artists to maintain and improve our proprietary animation tools;
- Demonstrate creativity and technical ability within the constraints of console development.
Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a self-directed manner and to make timely, well-thought out decisions;
- Advanced knowledge of 3D Studio Max and/or Maya;
- A demo reel which demonstrates exceptional skill in skinning human figure game assets for animation, both body and faces;
- Excellent understanding of development workflows as they relate to getting character and animation assets into game engines;
- Positive, solution-oriented individual with a passion for game development;
- Understanding of human body and facial anatomy as it relates to game assets and topology;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work closely in a team setting with other departments;
- Knowledge of Houdini is a definite plus;
- Experience in scripting and programming languages (Python, C#, WPF etc.).
