Responsibilities:
- Work with the production team to create high-quality computer-generated imagery (CGI) and visual effects (VFX) for film, television, and other media projects
- Oversee the work of CG artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
- Collaborate with other departments, including art, design, and animation, to develop and refine the look and feel of CGI and VFX elements
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and software, and recommend new tools and technologies to improve workflow and increase efficiency
- Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and time, to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Provide leadership and mentorship to CG artists, helping to develop their skills and grow their careers within the company
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, and to ensure that projects meet or exceed their requirements
- Participate in project planning and budgeting, providing input on resource requirements, timelines, and deliverables
Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in computer graphics or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in the VFX/animation industry
- Proficient in industry-standard software such as Maya, Nuke, and Houdini
- Strong understanding of lighting, shading, and compositing techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Proven leadership and management skills in overseeing a team of artists and technicians
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, producers, and other departments
