Web Hosting Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Web Hosting Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Suggest Cloud and hosting solutions adapted to the customer’s needs;
- Ensure the proper functioning of a production environment for shared, dedicated, and virtualized web hosting servers;
- anage, register, and transfer domain names and manage DNS entries;
- Troubleshoot email issues;
- Install, analyze, troubleshoot and optimize installations of WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and other content management systems;
- Provide technical assistance to customers by phone, chat, and helpdesk.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of web concepts such as DNS and IP;
- Experience in MySQL database system management an asset;
- Excellent communication (oral + written) in French and English;
- Basic knowledge of SEO/SEM concepts;
- Minimum of one year of experience in the field of website hosting, domain names, or cloud infrastructure;
- Proven ability in customer service, or customer facing technical assistance;
- Good understanding of email systems and protocols (POP/IMAP/SMTP), and mail servers (Exim, Dovecot, Courier);
- Familiarity with the Ubuntu operating system an asset;
- Experience with cPanel/WHM or other control panels;
- Knowledge of PHP programming language an asset.
