Jr. Automation Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Jr. Automation Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and commissioning, review of newly built automation equipment in production assembly lines, robotic cells;
- Study current existed equipment statistics, provide recommendations for reaching and sustaining Sales/production goal;
- Organize, document, and present technical design reviews and project management overviews;
- Perform other related duties as required;
- Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives;
- Involve in electrical design – components selection and prepare schematics;
- Exercise mechanical drive train design including the application of stepper motors, servo motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software;
- Ability to manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high-quality deliverables;
- Capable of working independently and unsupervised for extended periods of time;
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions that is a win-win for both customer and company;
- Experience in Beckhoff Automation is a strong asset;
- Diploma or Degree in Industrial Instrumentation & Automation Control Technician or similar;
- Excellent interpersonal and client management skills;
- Hands on experience with “C” Programming (Intermediate level) is required;
- Experience in programming HMI (Intermediate level) is required; experience with Ignition is a strong asset;
- Experience with PLC programming in ST language is preferred; VFD (min 2years);
- Ability to see big picture while not losing focus on the small details;
- Strong work ethics and leads by example;
- Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively;
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in a custom automated equipment builder work environment;
- Able and willing to travel to work on client’s location for commissioning and potential maintenance calls.
