Geotechnical Engineers analyze soil and rock mechanics for construction projects, ensuring structural integrity. Responsibilities include conducting field investigations, designing earthworks and structure foundations, and mitigating geohazards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses to assess site conditions and develop foundation and earthworks designs
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and designs for construction projects, including slope stability analysis, foundation design, and settlement analysis
  • Manage and oversee drilling and sampling programs, laboratory testing, and instrumentation installation and monitoring
  • Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure geotechnical requirements are met and incorporated into project plans
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and clients on geotechnical issues and solutions
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and regulations related to geotechnical engineering, and integrate new technologies and practices into work processes
  • Conduct site visits and field work to assess and monitor geotechnical conditions during construction and provide recommendations for remediation as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software such as Slope/W, Plaxis, and GeoStudio
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
