Senior Database Systems Engineer

Build OLAP and OLTP storage systems for Grafana’s general purpose data platform as a Senior Database Engineer working remotely. Shape scalable data infrastructure.This senior role focuses on database systems spanning ingestion, query planning, distributed execution, and storage formats. You will help develop a multi-tenant SaaS foundation that separates compute from storage across cloud providers. The work supports analytics queries and freshly stored data.Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement database ingestion and query planningBuild distributed query execution and storage formatsDefine tenant isolation, quotas, and usage trackingOperate services with metrics, logs, traces, and alertsShape architecture, APIs, and deployment patternsRequirements:
Mastery of Golang, C++, or RustExperience building production-grade user-facing software systemsExperience with distributed systems and query enginesExperience with catalogs and table formatsCloud-native experience with AWS, GCP, or AzureBring database engineering, distributed systems, and observability expertise to Grafana’s evolving data platform and production services.
