Pure Storage Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pure Storage Engineer to support a critical enterprise storage deployment and migration project. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise with Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade platforms, storage networking technologies, replication, disaster recovery, and VMware integration.

This consultant will lead implementation, configuration, testing, validation, and documentation activities across multiple Pure Storage environments while ensuring high availability and business continuity requirements are met.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of enterprise storage administration and engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Pure Storage FlashArray and/or FlashBlade
• Expertise with Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, NFS, and SMB protocols
• Experience implementing storage replication and disaster recovery solutions
• Strong understanding of storage performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Experience integrating storage platforms with VMware vSphere environments
• Knowledge of high availability (HA) architectures and failover testing
• Experience with storage migrations and enterprise infrastructure deployments
• Ability to create technical documentation and operational runbooks

Preferred Certifications

• Pure Certified FlashArray Implementation Specialist (FAIS)
• Pure Certified FlashArray Support Specialist
• Pure Certified FlashBlade Implementation Specialist
• VMware certifications are considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Perform Purity software enablement and initial startup on Pure Storage X20 systems
• Configure and validate Fibre Channel connectivity
• Execute local high-availability testing between Pure controllers
• Implement advanced storage configurations for:
• Install and configure Pure Storage vSphere Client Plugin
• Provision, configure, and validate VMware datastores
• Create and manage storage pools according to Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation
• Configure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and directory services integration
• Implement required security policies and best practices
• Perform failover and failback testing across VMware environments using test virtual machines
• Assist in developing operational runbooks and disaster recovery procedures
• Support test execution and validation activities
• Update as-built documentation and technical deliverables
• Provide post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and configuration adjustments
