Accounting Manager (CPA)

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented, and business-minded Accounting Manager (CPA) to lead the accounting and financial operations of our Canadian division.

This is a hybrid role combining accounting management, full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, compliance, payroll oversight, and operational finance support. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in a small-company environment and enjoys taking ownership across multiple areas of finance and accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

· Manage full-cycle accounting for the Canadian operations

· Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

· Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

· Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and internal controls

Reporting & Analysis

· Prepare management reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial analysis

· Support budgeting and forecasting activities

· Monitor financial performance and identify trends or operational risks

· Provide financial insights to support business decisions

Payroll & Compliance

· Oversee payroll processing and related remittances

· Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax requirements

· Coordinate GST/HST filings and other regulatory submissions

· Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as needed

Process Improvement

· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies

· Help implement financial controls and best practices

· Support system optimization and reporting automation where appropriate

Qualifications

Required

· CPA designation in Canada (CPA, CA / CMA / CGA)

· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

· Strong hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting

· Experience working in small or mid-sized businesses

· Knowledge of Canadian payroll, taxation, and financial compliance

· Strong proficiency with accounting systems and Excel

Preferred

· Experience managing multi-location operations

· Experience with QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP B1 or similar ERP/accounting platforms

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution
