Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics Technologist

Drive advances in genetic diagnostics with Kingston Health Sciences Centre as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. This full-time role encompasses Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics, emphasizing patient-centered care. You will join the Genetics team at KHSC, where your technical skills will have a direct impact on patient outcomes. Key tasks include specimen processing, conducting lab tests, and ensuring quality assurance in all activities, all within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accessioning and specimen processing
- Review and document quality control measures
- Conduct repeat testing and troubleshooting
- Maintain and support lab equipment and inventory
- Develop and validate new testing methods
- Registration with the CMLTO in relevant genetic disciplines
- Strong commitment to accuracy and detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development
