Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Pipefitter/Steamfitter to join a high-performing maintenance team in a modern manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial piping systems while ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial piping systems.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, technical drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Install and maintain steam, process, wastewater, heating, cooling, compressed air, gas, and high-pressure piping systems.
  • Install and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
  • Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Accurately document maintenance work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Support and mentor Pipefitter apprentices as required.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and other skilled trades to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Valid Certificate of Qualification (306A or 307A) as a Pipefitter/Steamfitter.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
  • Candidates with significant post-certification experience may also be considered.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial piping systems.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and piping schematics.
  • Experience with:

    • Steam systems
    • High-pressure piping
    • Process piping
    • Heating and cooling systems
    • Compressed air and gas systems
    • Instrumentation and controls
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and CMMS software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
