Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Quality Engineering.Job Summary & Reporting Structure:Tiercon Corp. is seeking a Quality Engineering to join our Quality team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality programs from program inception through production.This role works closely with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and program management to ensure products and processes meet customer, quality, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Engineer will play an active role in APQP, PPAP, process capability, dimensional analysis, problem solving, and continuous improvement.The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and analytical problem solver who can manage multiple priorities while working effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain quality programs from program launch through production.Prepare and maintain PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, inspection instructions, and Gauge R&R documentation.Conduct process and product capability studies at various stages of program development and production.Participate in APQP meetings with Program Management and cross-functional teams.Coordinate containment activities with Quality and Production Supervisors and support timely resolution of quality issues.Develop Control Plans and related inspection and testing requirements.Manage internal and external dimensional layouts for parts and gauges, including CMM-related activities.Assist with the development, construction, validation, and evaluation of fixtures and gauges.Participate in gage reviews, GD&T reviews, mold trials, DOEs, dimensional studies, and other quality-related activities.Issue Quality Alerts and communicate quality concerns to appropriate stakeholders.Utilize customer portals to obtain quality requirements and submit required quality documentation.Ensure quality systems and processes meet customer requirements and Tiercon standards.Support compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and customer-specific requirements.Work with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues and support program requirements.Travel to customer and supplier locations, including locations in the United States, as required.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and actively contribute to quality, productivity, and process improvement initiatives.Maintain compliance with Tiercon's Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:EducationCollege Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Quality, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent education.CQE or CQT designation is an asset.ExperienceMinimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably within an automotive manufacturing environment.Experience with injection moulding, painting, and assembly processes is an asset.Experience working within an IATF 16949 environment.Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Gauge R&R, capability studies, GD&T, and dimensional analysis.Experience using CMM equipment and/or dimensional measurement systems is an asset.Experience working with automotive OEM customers such as Toyota, Ford, GM, and Stellantis is an asset.Technical SkillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience with Minitab or other SPC/statistical analysis software.Strong computer skills, including databases, macros, and quality management systems.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer quality requirements.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.Core CompetenciesThe successful candidate will demonstrate:Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.Customer focus and the ability to manage multiple customer requirements.Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.Analytical and problem-solving ability, with a practical approach to identifying issues and developing effective recommendations.Attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a cross-functional team.A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to identify opportunities to improve processes and quality performance.Compensation & Benefits:Target Salary Mid-point: $85,000Competitive Health, Life and Dental benefits Upon hire3 month waiting period for retirement savingsTiercon Corp. is proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunity employer as set out in the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
