Electrical Power Design Engineer Vancouver

Join WSP as an Electrical Power Design Engineer in Vancouver, BC, and lead the design of electrical systems for major industrial projects. Your expertise will drive safety and efficiency across the mining and industrial sectors. In this intermediate role, you will enhance electrical power distribution systems for both new construction and existing projects. You will perform load flow and arc-flash analyses using tools like ETAP or EasyPower. Your contributions will ensure project success from conception through to completion, while mentoring junior engineers and managing technical inquiries. Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical power distribution and control systems
- Conduct hazardous environment analysis for safety compliance
- Perform power system studies with ETAP or EasyPower
- Prepare specifications for switchgear and transformers
- Oversee engineering calculations through site evaluations
- 5+ years of electrical engineering design experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in BC
- Knowledge of CSA, ANSI, IEEE codes and standards
- Experience in heavy industrial environments
- Valid driver's license for site visits
