Our client specializes in advanced technology for power generation systems, delivering tailored, brand-agnostic solutions across diverse OEM hardware. They are seeking a senior technical leader to drive the design, integration, and lifecycle support of power generation equipment, including engine- and turbine-driven generator packages.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design & System Integration: Lead the design, wiring, cable routing, panel layout, and interconnects for power generation units, switchgear, utilities, and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems.
- Engineering Deliverables: Develop and review single-line diagrams (SLDs), three-line diagrams (3LDs), panel layouts, system architectures, schematics, BOMs, and test procedures.
- System Studies & Compliance: Perform load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash calculations while ensuring compliance with CSA, NEC, NFPA, IEC, and IEEE codes.
- Grid Interconnection & Control: Design power distribution, generator synchronization, load sharing, and grid interconnection schemes; collaborate on PLC/HMI and industrial automation interfaces. - Manufacturing & Field Support: Support panel shop builds, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site commissioning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert across cross-functional teams (mechanical, controls, procurement) and mentor junior engineers and designers.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s is an asset). Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA (or eligibility for transfer from another Canadian jurisdiction).
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in power generation, industrial power systems, or packaged/skid-mounted equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with design software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent) and working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and ERP/PLM platforms. - - Code Mastery: In-depth knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety standards (CSA, NEC, IEC, IEEE).
- Leadership & Soft Skills: Strong communication, decision-making, and project management skills with a proven track record of cross-functional team collaboration.
- Travel: Ability to perform occasional travel to customer, vendor, or field installation sites.
