Purpose of the Position:
Reporting through the COO, the Director of Warehouse & Logistics is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, distribution, inventory control, and logistics to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality service delivery. This role plays a strategic part in developing scalable processes, optimizing supply chain performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business goals.
Warehouse Operations
- Direct daily warehouse activities including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Develop and implement SOPs to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and the facility to support smooth operations.
Logistics & Distribution
- Oversee transportation and delivery processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective distribution.
- Manage third-party logistics (3PL) relationships and carrier performance.
- Optimize routing and freight costs through effective planning and negotiation.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing warehouse and logistics team.
- Establish clear performance metrics and accountability standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and system controls.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales to forecast and meet inventory needs.
- Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and identify process improvements.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and manage the annual warehouse and logistics budget.
- Lead initiatives to scale operations in line with business growth.
- Identify and implement automation and technology solutions to improve efficiency.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain leadership.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale warehouse and distribution operations.
- Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP systems, and supply chain best practices.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
