1.0 Regional Centre for Success Durham College Program

Durham College Oshawa or Whitby Campus. Location is based on needs of the program.

5 year secondment beginning in 2026 - 2027 with the option to renew annually depending on funding.

Reporting to the Student Success System Lead in Teaching and Learning K - 12.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
• The CFS Teacher supports college dual credit courses, delivers credit recovery and elective courses based on student needs in a small class setting working with secondary students from across the DDSB at Durham College, Whitby or Oshawa Campus.

Qualifications: Senior Math and Senior English

Successful candidates must demonstrate:

Numeracy, Literacy and Credit Recovery is an asset

Experience in Student Success an asset

Qualifications and additional information:

• Required subject qualifications: Senior Math and Senior English
• FTE:1.0
• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
• Secondary Permanent Salary Range: $57,986 to $119,967/year (Placement on salary grid is based on QECO rating and teaching experience. Salary will be pro-rated based on the position FTE).

First Consideration: Teachers covered by the OSSTF Permanent Teachers' Collective Agreement (1.0., 0.5, Article 10 teachers) who possess the required qualifications.(For clarity, an Article 10 teacher is a day school teacher at Durham Continuing Education who has signed a contract with the Board They are considered Article 10 for the school year.)
2. Second Consideration: Candidates from outside of the OSSTF permanent bargaining unit.
