Employee Relations Business Partner

The Employee Relations Business Partner (ERBP) provides consulting and direction regarding employee relations matters to managers, leaders and employees within Apple's Retail organization. Key objectives include legal compliance and adherence to Apple policies in a consistent, objective and fair fashion that fosters the Credo, accomplished through deep partnership with the Centers of Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze and implement resolutions to complex and highly sensitive employee relations issues, including unusual situations where precedents for resolution are unavailable.
- Advise and influence market leadership teams regarding critical and complex employee relations decisions, e.g. harassment, business conduct, terminations, and HR policies, guidelines and practices.
- Evaluate and review employee related decisions in response to employee concerns.
- Conduct investigations regarding potential misconduct and policy violations with varied levels of complexity.
- Conduct workplace violence assessments and implement response plans as needed.
- Provide workplace accommodations consultation with business partners.
- Advise, communicate and implement country-wide employee relations programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct training for HR, ER and line management on employee relations topics.
- Leverage case management system to analyze ER metrics with clients to determine trends and develop proactive strategies to cultivate positive ER in the business.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7-12+ years HR experience in employee relations
- Deep expertise in conducting investigations and skilled at documentation related to investigations
- Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations
- Experienced in balancing multiple priorities, stakeholders and work streams across markets
- Ability to travel 20-30%
- Working English and French‑Canadian language proficiency, as this role will support employees across all Canadian provinces
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, including the ability to organize, plan, and prioritize
- Ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with managers and HR colleagues
- Exceptional communication skills including effective listening, written communication and presentation
- Large corporation HR/ER experience
7-12+ years of HR experience in employee relations; deep expertise in workplace investigations; knowledge of Canadian employment laws; bilingual English and French‑Canadian proficiency; ability to travel 20-30%.
