Mill Electrician

Location: True North Mine, Bissett, Manitoba (Camp-Based)

Work Location:  This position is based at the True North Mine site. Camp accommodations and meals are provided during scheduled work rotations.

Position Overview

1911 Gold Corporation is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Mill Electrician to support the maintenance, repair, and optimization of electrical systems at the True North Mine. This role is critical to ensuring reliable mill and site operations through effective troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical infrastructure.

The Mill Electrician will work collaboratively with maintenance teams and other trades to minimize downtime, ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations, and support safe, efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

 Electrical Maintenance & Operations

• Maintain, repair, upgrade, and install electrical systems and equipment, including (but not limited to) control equipment, monitors, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs
• Interpret and work from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications
• Operate and maintain electrical components and switchgear up to 13.8 kV, including performing medium-voltage terminations
• Inspect and ensure all electrical equipment meets applicable regulations and codes
• Replace and repair electrical components such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, and electronic devices

Preventative Maintenance & Reliability

• Follow established preventative maintenance programs, including routine inspections and servicing of equipment
• Perform regular maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to support mill and site reliability
• Assist with maintenance of site electrical distribution systems, including the camp complex
• Maintain accurate maintenance records for assigned tasks
• Recommend improvements to maximize maintenance efficiency and minimize operational downtime

Safety & Collaboration

• Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and SOPs
• Complete required safety documentation, including 5-point safety cards and FLRAs
• Assist other trades with tasks as required or assigned
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and safety-driven work environment

Required Experience & Skill Set

• Minimum 2+ years of related experience in mine mill maintenance
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Advanced knowledge or experience with PLCs considered a strong asset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Strong problem identification, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• High level of professionalism, work ethic, and attention to detail
