Security Coordinator

Atlantica is looking to add a Security Coordinator to our team! This role will be based in our office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The security coordinator will be responsible for managing the security applications, statuses, and requirements for our projects across the Maritimes.

About The Security Coordinator Role

The Security Coordinator must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Level II (Secret) clearance issued by the PSPC Contract Security Program.

In addition to being eligible for Secret Clearance, we’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in a Security Coordinator role or as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO), preferably for a construction company
• Has a strong attention to detail and is very organized
• Is proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other similar programs
• Has knowledge of the Controlled Goods Program
• Is a self-starter and has excellent time management skills

What will you do as the Security Coordinator?

• Manage Atlantica’s overall security clearance program for employees and subcontractors working in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland.
• Ensure everyone accessing secure job sites meet the required security standards tied to each contract.
• Work closely with departments like Estimating and Project Management to identify what level of clearance is needed before work begins.
• Guide employees through the clearance application process, including explaining requirements, helping collect documents, arranging fingerprints, and ensuring submissions are complete.
• Act as the primary liaison with outside agencies to submit applications, track approvals, and respond to follow-ups.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to maintain current documentation and secure required approvals for PSPC-related work activities.
• Keep detailed and organized records of all security clearances.
• Produce reports on clearance status and compliance for management or project teams.
• Ensure access is revoked when an employee or subcontractor no longer requires clearance.
• Support procurement and finance by providing required security language or clauses for subcontractor purchase orders.
