Job description

The Engine Director provides leadership and direction to a team of technical specialists and support staff.

Main responsibilities

• Monitor and report on all success measures and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the fleet engines as well as for the budget.
• Review, approve and maintain the Engine Management and Maintenance Program (EMP) with suppliers such as Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce.
• Review, approve and maintain the General Electric Work Planning Guide to uphold the CFM56-5B engine maintenance program.
• Contribute to the development of departmental procedures and procedures in compliance with the MCM & MPM.
• Be responsible for all changes and standards related to engine configurations.
• Be responsible for engine parts revisions and technical specifications during shop visits.
• Coordinate and follow up on all major technical projects and special requirements related to removal planning as well as the introduction and return of engines to lessors.
• Prepare and explain variances in the engine maintenance budget.
• Chair engine meetings and ensure that all necessary actions are in place to maintain and improve engine reliability in accordance with the fleet engine maintenance programs.
• With the assistance of Procurement, negotiate and manage contracts related to engine repair and overhaul facilities as well as short-, medium- and long-term engine lease contracts.
• Review all existing and upcoming engine-related contracts to ensure their content complies with regulations and that risk coverage is adequate.
• Perform any other responsibilities described for this position in the MPM.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering.
• 8 years of relevant experience in engine maintenance management.
• Membership in the engineering order (professional engineering association) preferred.
• Oral and written proficiency in French and English.
• A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec.
• Ability to use Office 365 applications.
• Willingness to travel for engine shop visits and various conferences.
