Confidently lead a team through project procurement, the bid process and pre-constructionWork under pressure and meeting strict deadlinesMentor and train junior estimating staffAssemble accurate, detailed, and well-organized budgets and estimatesWork with various contract types - including Construction Management, Design Build, P3, and Lump sum.Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out processMonitor the success of a project, assisting with value engineering and noting potential challengesBuild and maintain relationships with sub-trades for future opportunitiesDistribute sub-trade quotes and budgets to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid priceMaintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future referenceIs this the right role for you?
You have a Civil Engineering degree, diploma, or related construction education, along with 8 to 10 years of estimating experience on heavy civil and infrastructure projects, including bridges, roads, highways, transit, earthworks, and municipal infrastructure, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.You have an advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contractsYou have extensive experience creating conceptual budgetsYou have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations while delegating to a teamYou have experience with estimating software (OST, costX)Eligibility for Security Clearance due to project requirements.EllisDon is proud to provide this unique career opportunity that provides continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package within an environment that is committed to inclusion and respects diversity.
