Warehouse/Yard Supervisor (Full time)

Gillfor Distribution is seeking an existing position of a  Warehouse/Yard Supervisor to join our branch in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. As part of our Lumber Yard team at our Dartmouth Distribution Centre, you will work in a team environment reporting directly to our  Division Manager . You will be responsible for efficiently  managing the warehouse and yard as well as directing and supervising yard staff to reach daily goals. This is a full-time position at our Dartmouth location.

Expectations: 

• Supervise and assist the following yard activities:
• L oading and unloading of building materials in a safe and timely manner 
• L oading orders onto customer trucks 
• Receiving incoming freight 
• Periodic inventory counts (quarterly) and spot checks 
• Maintain a tidy and organized lumber yard and warehouse
• Compliance with all work safety rules and regulations 
• Politeness and professionalism with all customers and truck drivers
• Supervise and assist the loading and unloading of building materials operating a forklift
• Preparation and packing of customer orders in a timely and detailed manner

Ideal Attributes:

• High School Diploma
• Forklift Training and Experience Required
• Minimum of two years managing/supervising a lumber yard and/or warehouse experience is a definite asset
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds if necessary 
• Knowledge of the building materials industry is an asset
• Able to work in outdoor conditions 
• Flexibility with start and finish times 
• Reliable and punctual
• Self-motivated and able to work with little to no supervision

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation: $25-$30 per hour, 45 hours per week excluding lunch breaks
