Architect Affirm’s EKS platform with Kubernetes expertise and Go or Python skills in a remote-first engineering environment. Shape reliable infrastructure at global scale.As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will guide Kubernetes platform strategy across cluster lifecycle, node management, and shared components. You will automate operations through Terraform, Spacelift, and self-service workflows while supporting reliable workloads. The work spans AWS architecture, observability, policy enforcement, and technical leadership across teams.Key Responsibilities:
Architect and evolve Affirm’s EKS platform strategyLead standardized provisioning, upgrades, teardown, and self-service workflowsOwn reliability for shared Kubernetes components and delivery pipelinesEnforce workload safety standards and automated policy defaultsMentor engineers and participate in production incident responseRequirements:
10+ years in software or infrastructure engineering6+ years operating production Kubernetes at scaleDeep EKS, Kubernetes, AWS, and autoscaling expertiseTerraform, GitOps, and policy enforcement experienceExpert proficiency in Go or PythonLead Affirm’s scalable Kubernetes platform through EKS architecture, automation, reliability standards, observability, and technical mentorship.
