*Full Time* Security Team Lead - Edmonton City Centre
Overview
Job Skills / Requirements
Job Duties:
- Deliver a high level of customer service to clients, visitors, and staff in a challenging and dynamic environment
- Monitor site visitors, CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarms to ensure safety and compliance with site policies
- Respond professionally and effectively to emergencies including alarms, medical incidents, fires, and other urgent situations
- Lead and supervise security officers on site in the absence of the Site Supervisor
- Act as the main conduit of information between ECC management and the security team
- Prevent theft, violence, and rule infractions through proactive presence and visibility
- Prepare detailed, professional incident reports and maintain accurate daily logs
- Keep the Site Supervisor fully updated on all major incidents and site matters
- Effectively de-escalate tense situations using strong verbal communication skills
- Conduct arrests when required and in accordance with legal guidelines
- Support the training, mentoring, and development of new and existing security officers
- Perform site patrols, access control, and enforcement of security procedures
Requirements:
- Valid Alberta Security Guard License (or equivalent) is strongly preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of security experience (leadership or supervisory experience is a strong asset)
- Currently enrolled in or completed studies in Law Enforcement, Police Foundations, Criminal Justice, or a related field is highly desirable
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Clean criminal record (vulnerable sector check may be required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong computer proficiency
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to the site
- Professional appearance and strong leadership presence
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
Education Requirements (All)
High School Diploma/GED
