Salary Range: $22.54 - $23.88 Closing Date: June 12, 2024 Start Date: September 3, 2024 Other Information: 7 hr/day term assignment until October 30, 2024 or upon return of the incumbent being replaced.

Responsibilities:

• Welcomes visitors to the school and provides directions around the building as needed

• Type up and contributes to school bulletin or newsletter

• Maintains student records and files

• Contacts parents in the event of student illness or behavioral issues

• Uses computer database or filing system to update records as necessary

• Manage school processes and procedures to ensure compliance with school and division regulations

• Provided school specific administrative support processes such as student services, locker assignments,

activity forms

• Provides administrative support to principals or another upper-level administrator as needed

Qualifications:

• Completion of a one or two year college program for secretaries/administrative assistants, or equivalent

combination of education and experience

• Fluency in both official languages (French & English) written and oral is a requirement

• Previous related experience in an office setting

• Demonstrated proficiency with purchase orders and bookkeeping which includes reconciling school budget,

monthly bank statements, time sheets, etc.

• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications (Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, Publisher) in a Windows environment

• Demonstrated ability to be self motivated with initiative

• Ability to make a positive contribution within a team environment

• Demonstrated ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Previous experience working with student information systems (i.e. PowerSchool) would be considered an

asset

As a condition of employment, all new hires must complete a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector search, and child abuse registry check as part of the hiring process.

Salary & benefits for this position will be administered in accordance with the SRSD/Secretary & Library Technician collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
