We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Property Accountant is responsible for the full cycle accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank files for the pre-authorized collection of more than 300 tenant rent payments;
• Record monthly rental revenue and maintain accurate tenant accounting records;
• Review and approve monthly bank and corporate credit card reconciliations for multiple legal entities;
• Oversee accounts payable processing and vendor payment functions;
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances;
• Prepare KPI reports and ad hoc financial analysis for management;
• Support year-end audit preparation;
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls;
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline;
• CPA designation (or actively pursuing designation) is considered a strong asset;
• Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience;
• Experience in property management, real estate, or multi-entity accounting is considered an asset;
• Strong understanding of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE);
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software;
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis;
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities;
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
