Job Responsibility:
Job Overview Looking for an experienced Key Cutter who can meticulously duplicate keys, ensuring precision and accuracy with 2 plus years experience. Responsibilities include operating key-cutting machinery, maintaining inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. Knowledge of door hardware and be able to rekey door hardware in store Expertise in locksmithing is an asset. This is both in shop work and field work when required.
Responsibilities
- Cut keys for customers using key cutting machines and other tools
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their key-related needs
- Keep track of inventory and order new key blanks when necessary
- Ensure the accuracy of key cutting by regularly calibrating and maintaining key cutting equipment
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales
- Adhere to all safety protocols when using key cutting machines and other tools
- Rekeying of new and used hardware
- door hardware knowledge and sales
- Assist with other tasks as needed, including answering phones and providing information to customers
- Provide support in administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and record keeping.
Skills
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Experience in retail sales or cashiering is a plus.
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers or vendors when necessary.
- Supervisory experience is beneficial for overseeing junior staff or trainees.
- Administrative skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation related to cutting processes.
- Experience in key cutting and duplication
- Knowledge of different types of keys and key cutting machines
- Ability to operate and maintain key cutting equipment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in key cutting
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Physical dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Familiarity with key inventory and ordering processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
