We are hiring a full-time permanent Team Lead position working out of Regina, SK .

The Team Lead reports to the Operations Manager. As the Team Lead, you are leading and mentoring a skilled team of operators and maintenance staff while playing a critical role in the day-to-day operation of a Level IV Wastewater Treatment Plant.

You are balancing hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, guiding staff, supporting training and development, and fostering a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You are also collaborating closely with management to ensure operations are safe, efficient, and fully compliant.

Your work directly supports the safe treatment of wastewater, protects the environment, and helps ensure the community of Regina continues to receive reliable, compliant service. In this role, you are championing EPCOR's Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) standards, supporting ISO 14001 environmental practices, and contributing to ongoing improvements in plant performance, reliability, and risk management.

What you’d be responsible for

• Leading and supporting a team of operators and maintenance staff to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant operations across the Level IV Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), while balancing hands-on technical work with effective delegation and team oversight, including monitoring tasks, coaching employees, providing performance feedback, contributing to the APR process, and supporting employee development plans.
• Driving operational performance and continuous improvement by tracking metrics, identifying issues, implementing corrective actions, and supporting incident management with a focus on learning and prevention.
• Managing assets and resources effectively, including maintenance planning, contractor coordination, cost forecasting, and supporting capital projects and project management activities, while overseeing work orders in IVARA and prioritizing work to achieve KPI targets.
• Championing EPCOR's Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) standards by promoting a strong safety culture, supporting the goal of zero incidents, and ensuring safety supplies are available.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, contractors, engineers, project managers, and management, while coordinating work involving multiple resources.
• Setting clear expectations and driving accountability while mentoring and developing team members through coaching, on-the-job guidance, and structured training.
• Supervising and troubleshooting process units, chemicals, and equipment to optimize performance and efficiency, while monitoring trends and applying risk assessment techniques to maintain treatment processes.
• Developing and implementing work schedules and reviewing and approving timesheets and vacation requests in collaboration with management.
• Participating in and supporting the integration and implementation of processes, including design reviews, commissioning, permitting, SOP development, PM development, and related documentation.
• Maintaining and advancing certification levels while pursuing additional training and supporting the development of training plans that build team capabilities and certifications.
• Keeping management informed of frontline work activities and behavioral performance concerns.

What’s required to be successful

• Knowledge of mechanical process operations, materials, equipment, methods, and resources in municipal or comparable industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, work plans, and technical manuals.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a leadership or supervisory role in an industrial setting, with the ability to supervise maintenance and operations.
• A Level 4 Wastewater Treatment Certification or complete and pass certification exams within one year of hire is required .
• High School Diploma (or equivalent ) is .
  • P reference will be given to candidates holding a valid Journeyperson Certificate in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Millwright (Industrial Mechanic), with additional preference for dual-trade certification.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Strong knowledge of construction and maintenance best practices and the ability to provide strategic, innovative solutions.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater plants and systems, including operations, maintenance, and applicable regulations.
• Financial knowledge to develop, track, and maintain budgets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong ability to effectively lead people.

Safety Sensitive

• Ability to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver’s permit, which requires a valid Class 5 Saskatchewon Motor Vehicle Operator's License
  • Limited to 6 demerits or less at date of hire (prior infractions for unsafe driving behaviours will be evaluated and considered for non-selection regardless of current demerits on file).
  • A Driver Abstract (5- year commercial type) will be required.
  • Drivers with a GDL class will not be considered.

• Ability to withstand strenuous physical activity inherent to the work performed, as well as to function effectively outside under a variety of weather conditions and through all seasons.
  • Please note that due to the nature of this position you will be required to wear a ½ mask respirator for extended periods on a daily basis.

Wage: Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement.

• $51.92 per hour (Lvl 4 Operator);
• $55.53 per hour (Lvl 4 Operator/1 Trade Certificates); or,
• $58.65  per hour  (Lvl 4 Operator/2 Trade Certificates)
