Vegetable Farm Worker SandI Agricultural Commodities Limited Location Simcoe, ON Salary 17.60 hourly / 30 to 72 hours per week Full time Overtime required, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, On call, To be determined, Overtime available Starts as soon as possible Languages English Education No degree, certificate or diploma Experience Will train Work must be completed at the physical Location. There is no option to work remotely. Responsibilities: Apply the technique of hoeing between the row Clean the crops Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas Clear fields of wood and stones Cultivate on vertical farming system Cut agricultural crops Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market. Level earth to fine grade specifications Monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops Shear and shape trees and plants with knife Sort fruits and vegetables Weeding Write daily basic progress reports Clean work area Harvest crops Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market Experience and specialization Type of crops Sweet corn Vegetables Additional information Transportation/travel information Own transportation Work conditions and physical capabilities Ability to work independently Fast-paced environment Repetitive Handling heavy loads Tight deadlines Physically demanding Manual dexterity Hand-eye co-ordination Ability to distinguish between colours Attention to detail Standing for extended periods Bending, crouching, kneeling Sound discrimination Sitting Combination of sitting, standing, walking Walking Weight handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Personal suitability Flexibility Organized Reliability Team player Until: 2026-05-08
