Crane and Shipping Supervisor

Darmac Framing Systems is a privately owned Canadian company that builds quality walls, floors, and trusses for residential construction in our prefabrication shop. We provide a positive work environment for our employees and excellent value for our customers.

Darmac Framing Systems is looking to hire a Crane and Shipping Supervisor to work in our shop based in Balzac, AB. The position will report directly to the President.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise shipping operations including loading, unloading and transportation of materials and finished products.
• Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time to meet customer deadlines and project requirements.
• Lead and manage the shipping team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure team members adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
• Maintain inventory records and coordinate with the production manager.
• Ensure safety protocols and conduct regular inspections.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of shipping equipment.
• Document shipping activities and generate reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements.

Qualifications:

• You have a Class 1 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract. (Must show proof)
• Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience.
• Experience driving commercial vehicles is preferred.
• Must have crane operator ticket.
• Forklift certification is preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience in shipping or logistics.
• Mechanical knowledge is an asset.
• Knowledge of shipping procedures and inventory management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to safety.
• Reliable, dependable, and hardworking
• Able to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks, including loading and unloading materials.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well effectively in a team environment.
• Available to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in adverse Calgary weather conditions.
• You have your own transportation to get to Balzac. We cannot be reached by public transportation.

Pay is based on qualifications and experience.
