Job Overview

We are seeking a Contract Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at St. John’s Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide fee‑for‑service appointments to the general public.
• Offer training to unregulated care providers.
• Perform minor clinical procedures such as suture removals, EKGs, and other basic diagnostics.
• Conduct bloodwork, pre‑employment medical testing, mobile foot care, vaccinations, TB testing, travel consults, paternity testing, qualitative fit testing.
• Conduct first aid training and drug and alcohol testing.
• Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth daily clinic operations.

• Communication skills: speak with clients and families on a regular basis.
• Organizational skills: coordinate multiple activities, provide primary health services, answer phones and emails.
• Problem‑solving skills: remain calm in stressful situations and tackle problems with a focus on finding positive solutions.
• Computer proficiency: comfortable using a computer for all aspects of work.
• Detail‑oriented: manage many small, important tasks accurately.
• Empathy: understand and compassion for clients with unique and sometimes complex situations.

Qualifications

• Licensed through the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador or the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
• Experience working in a clinic setting or providing testing services.
• Positive attitude.
