Become a Lead Data Scientist with IESO in Oakville, Ontario, operating under a hybrid model. Your focus will be on smart meter data to derive actionable insights for strategic decisions. You will play a vital role in the Smart Metering Division, reporting to the Senior Manager of Data & Analytics. This role requires you to have a strong foundation in statistical modeling and data mining, ensuring the effective use of smart meter data. You'll also work closely with diverse teams to boost data capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive analysis on smart meter data initiatives
- Partner with Data Analyst for tailored reporting execution
- Lead meetings with stakeholders to enhance collaboration
- Mentor team members in best analytics practices
- Identify and embed modern technologies into analytic processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics; Master’s is a plus
- 8-10 years of experience in data-focused settings
- In-depth knowledge of statistical and predictive modeling
- Strong SQL and data package experience vital
- Prior experience in the electricity sector preferred
