Staff Python Backend Engineer

Use Python and distributed systems expertise to build secure, scalable backend services from Canada. Work full time on cloud-native applications in AWS.As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will design core services and backend logic for event-driven systems. The work spans asynchronous programming, data processing pipelines, serverless applications, and RESTful APIs. Strong distributed systems fundamentals support dependable engineering decisions.Key Responsibilities:
Build event-driven backend logic using message queues and pub/sub servicesManage concurrent tasks with asynchronous programming techniquesDesign data pipelines across cloud storage, compute, and databasesOptimize performance through caching, async calls, and latency reductionDevelop serverless applications and RESTful APIs with Flask or FastAPIRequirements:
Five or more years of hands-on Python backend developmentExperience with cloud-native or serverless solutions, preferably AWSKnowledge of event-driven architecture, queues, and scalable data pipelinesHands-on asynchronous and concurrent programming experienceStrong testing and debugging skills across distributed architecturesApply Python, asynchronous programming, and distributed systems expertise to build scalable AWS backend services and APIs in Canada.
