About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Drive Systems Sales professional to join our team in Port Coquitlam, BC. This role focuses on selling Motor Control and Motor Starting systems, with a particular focus on Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems, to customers across multiple industries, including:
- Ports and Terminals
- Industrial (Metals, Paper, Chemical, Mining)
- General Industry (Automotive, Manufacturing)
- Utilities (Power Plants, Water and Wastewater)
- Marine
- Oil & Gas
- Mining
As a Drive Systems Sales specialist, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and working closely with engineering and project teams to deliver top-tier solutions. Some travel may be required to support customers in various locations.
Your Contribution to the Team Will Include:
- Selling drive systems, electrical controls, and automation solutions to new and existing customers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and industry partners
- Identifying opportunities for growth within assigned territories and target markets
- Providing technical expertise and guidance on drive system selection and integration
- Collaborating with the engineering team to develop customized solutions for customer needs
- Preparing and delivering presentations, proposals, and quotations
- Managing the entire sales process, from lead generation to project close-out
- Attending trade shows, networking events, and customer site visits to expand market reach
- Staying up to date on industry trends, competitors, and new technologies
What You Need to Succeed in This Role:
- Proven experience in technical sales, preferably in drive systems, industrial automation, or electrical solutions
- Strong understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, etc.) and their applications
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear value propositions for customers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with engineering and support teams
- Experience managing long sales cycles and capital equipment sales
- A valid driver's license and ability to travel as required
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field is an asset but not required
