Oncology Hospitalist Team Member

Join Waterloo Regional Health Network as an Oncology Hospitalist to manage inpatients and collaborate closely with specialized teams. This role focuses on solid tumor patients and their treatment management.

You will cover the inpatient oncology unit at WRHN Midtown, with a typical schedule of 3 out of 4 week blocks, from 8 am to 5 pm. Responsibilities include admitting patients from the Emergency Department and managing those undergoing systemic therapy like chemotherapy. Collaboration with a nurse practitioner and participation in integrated care teams are essential aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities: • Cover inpatient oncology unit during assigned blocks • Admit patients from Emergency Department during daytime • Manage solid tumor and hematology patients’ therapy • Collaborate with hospitalists and nurse practitioners • Optional participation in first-call system with stipend

Requirements: • Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine • Eligible for independent licensure in Ontario • Maintain privileges at WRHN Midtown
