Facilities Attendant

Job Responsibility:

FACILITIES ATTENDANT - LOCATED IN CALEDON (ALTON), ONTARIO

The Facilities Attendant is responsible for ensuring the functionality and upkeep of all facilities on the property. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, repairs, and improvements to ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of Guests and staff. The Facilities Attendant reports into the Facilities Manager and works very closely with other departments, and as needed, third party sub-contractors, to address operational maintenance issues promptly and efficiently, contributing to a positive Guest experience. Issues that impact Guest experience are of immediate priority.

Key Responsibilities:

Routine Maintenance Tasks:

· Conduct regular inspections of accommodation (i.e. VIP suites and cabins) facilities, including Guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas, to identify maintenance needs.

· Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing plumbing fixtures, painting, and repairing furniture.

HVAC and Mechanical Systems:

· Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal performance and Guest comfort.

· Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical systems, including boilers, pumps, and motors, to address issues promptly and minimize downtime.

Electrical Repairs:

· Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, including wiring, switches, outlets, and appliances, to identify and resolve issues safely.

· Perform electrical repairs and installations in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Plumbing and Water Systems:

· Repair and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and pipes to prevent leaks, clogs, and water damage.

· Respond to Guest requests for plumbing repairs, such as unclogging drains, fixing faucets, and repairing toilets.

Safety and Emergency Preparedness:

· Assist in implementing and maintaining safety protocols and emergency response procedures to ensure the safety of Guests and staff.

· Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and other safety systems to ensure compliance with regulations.

Guest Room Maintenance:

· Perform repairs and maintenance tasks in Guest rooms, including fixing locks, adjusting doors, repairing appliances, and replacing worn-out items.

· Respond promptly to Guest requests for maintenance assistance and ensure timely resolution of issues to enhance Guest satisfaction.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in maintenance or a related field is a plus.

· Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

· Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.

· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and Guest satisfaction.

Expected start date: June/July 2024

Job Types: Full-time

Hourly rate: $27-30/hour
