Part-Time Family Assistant / Household Helper – Oakville We are a busy family in Oakville with two school-aged children (11 and 14) looking for a reliable, warm and proactive part-time family assistant to help keep our household running smoothly. This is not primarily a childcare position. Our children are fairly independent. We are looking for someone who enjoys household organization, food preparation and helping with the many everyday tasks that make family life easier. Responsibilities

• General tidying and resetting of kitchen and living areas
• Laundry, folding and putting clothes away
• Light household organization and keeping commonly used areas orderly
• Preparing healthy after-school snacks
• Basic meal preparation and cooking
• Washing/chopping vegetables and other dinner prep
• Putting away groceries and keeping pantry/fridge organized
• Occasional errands and grocery pickups
• Occasional school/activity pickups and driving the children
• Helping the children as needed when they are home

We are a vegetarian household and require careful gluten-free food handling, so willingness to learn and consistently follow our kitchen and food-safety practices is essential. We’re looking for someone who:

• Is trustworthy, dependable and safety-conscious
• Is naturally organized and enjoys keeping a household running well
• Takes initiative and notices what needs doing without requiring a detailed task list every day
• Is comfortable working independently
• Is warm and respectful with older children
• Is comfortable cooking/preparing vegetarian meals
• Has a valid driver’s licence and is a confident, safe driver
• Is comfortable driving children locally
• Can provide references
• Is willing to provide a background/Vulnerable Sector Check
• First Aid/CPR training is an asset

The ideal person will become familiar with our family’s routines and gradually be able to anticipate what needs to be done—whether that’s preparing snacks, folding laundry, starting some dinner prep, organizing the kitchen or helping with a pickup.
