TMPD Learning Experience Designer

Job Responsibility: The Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management is a significant expression of Indigenous ingenuity and modern efforts to shed the colonial legacy of the Indian Act . Our team at the First Nation Lands Management Resource Centre (FNLMRC) is cutting edge, dedicated and experienced in assisting First Nations with developing workable solutions to the everyday challenges of community led lands and resources governance. We are currently searching for motivated and qualified candidates to fill a Learning Experience Designer position. CURRENT POSITIONS BEING STAFFED : 1

ABOUT US As part of the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management (Framework Agreement) , the Lands Advisory Board (LAB) and the First Nations Land Management Resource Centre (RC) provide political and technical support to developmental and operational First Nations. The developmental process under the Framework Agreement consists of a series of activities including the drafting of community land codes, implementing communication strategies and community voting procedures, as well as finalizing Individual Agreements with Canada. Once a First Nation ratifies its Land Code and becomes operational, the LAB and RC provide various support services such as assisting/advising with drafting land laws, rules, procedures, and instruments, as well as implementing land governance systems and facilitating agreements and other arrangements with municipal, provincial, federal or First Nation governments. ABOUT THE POSITION The incumbent supports the Manager, TMPD, with the development of curriculum material and supports the delivery of the TMPD strategy. This role focuses on developing and maintaining online course content and reference materials, assisting in the implementation of the RC's TMPD online curriculum, and supporting various administrative tasks related to FA compliance and stakeholder engagement. The following is an overview of the key responsibilities for this position but may not be all-inclusive.

• Course Content: Identify, develop, maintain, and update online course content and reference materials. This will include course design, presentations, booklets, and other accessible resource materials, aligning with TMPD objectives and FA requirements. Assess the effectiveness of learning tools and materials, continuously evaluating and making amendments as necessary to enhance learner outcomes.

• TMPD Strategy Implementation Support: Collaborate with staff, partners, and advisors to assist in the implementation of the RC's TMPD online curriculum development and strategy, ensuring alignment with FA goals and objectives.

• Learning Management System (LMS) Administration and Implementation: Assign appropriate roles within the LMS. Import eLearning materials and maintain accurate records. Identify training needs among lands staff and develop individualized training plans to support capacity building within specific knowledge paths.

• Administrative Support for FA Compliance: Provide assistance in preparing annual work plans, quarterly, and annual reports for the Government of Canada to ensure compliance with the Comprehensive Funding Agreement, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Briefing Preparation: Assist in the preparation of TMPD briefings and other FA-related briefings for the LAB and RC Board, providing relevant information on matters affecting the RC TMPD strategy and FA implementation.

• External Partnerships: Liaise and build positive relationships with educational partners, institutions, and other professional lands & resource training providers, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

• Any other related duties in keeping with the LAB, RC and FNs' responsibilities in implementing the FA.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS To be considered for the position identified above, or for future consideration, please demonstrate how you meet the following essential criteria:

• Relevant post-secondary education, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
• Specialized training in on-line knowledge implementation.
• Minimum 5 years' experience working with First Nations, preferably dealing with capacity building.
• 3-5 years' experience in the areas of curriculum development and instructional design.

The following essential requirements will be assessed at a later date, either through an interview, written assessment and reference checks:

• Good understanding of the Framework Agreement on First Nation Lands Management.
• Knowledge of land and environment issues related to First Nations' land.
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture.
• Knowledge of Instructional Design Frameworks (such as ADDIE)
• Knowledge of adult learning theories
• Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
• Good project management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for a variety of audiences.
• Proficiency with online meeting software and tools such as Zoom, Slido, and Vimeo.
• Proficiency with LMS such as Moodle.
• Proficiency with software programs such as Articulate Rise, Adobe Suite, Microsoft office, and Word Press.
• Effective interpersonal relationships.
• Tact and good judgment.
