Senior Analyst, Trading Systems Management

Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst, Trading Systems Management to support and enhance trading and order management systems across multiple asset classes. This role will work closely with front, middle, and back office teams, technology stakeholders, data providers, and external vendors to support system functionality, data integrity, reporting, and business requirements. Contract: 12 months Extension: Potential based on business needs FTE Conversion: Possible Hybrid: Toronto - onsite as required; Montreal - remote Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Interview Process: 2 virtual interview rounds Key Responsibilities include the following;

• Manage and enhance trading and order management systems, including platforms such as Bloomberg AIM, Bloomberg PORT, ThinkFolio, or comparable OMS platforms.
• Serve as a central point of contact for system-related inquiries, troubleshooting, and support for front, middle, and back-office users across multiple asset classes.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into system enhancements, workflows, and data requirements.
• Perform data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and analysis across multiple systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions to support trading activity, operational monitoring, and business decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and improved data workflows using SQL, Python, Excel, VBA, APIs, or similar technologies.
• Monitor system data flows and proactively investigate and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with technology, operations, and data-provider teams.
• Support system enhancements, upgrades, testing, implementation, and post-launch validation activities.
• Maintain documentation covering system processes, data definitions, workflows, and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure trading and investment management systems remain aligned with business requirements.
• Support ongoing process improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending solutions.

Must-Have Skills include the following;

• 3-5+ years of experience supporting trading, portfolio management, order management, or investment management systems.
• Hands-on experience with Bloomberg AIM, Bloomberg PORT, ThinkFolio, or a comparable Order Management System (OMS). Bloomberg experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of front-office investment workflows, trade lifecycle processes, and portfolio management operations.
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional, data, and technical requirements.
• Experience working with financial data, investment portfolios, trading activity, or capital markets environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to data accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  

Nice to Have skills include the following;

• Experience with SQL, Python, VBA, APIs, or other automation technologies.
• Experience with data analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and data-quality solutions.
• Additional experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence platforms.
• Knowledge of asset management, portfolio analytics, investment operations, or capital markets.
• Experience working with vendors supporting trading, portfolio management, or investment management platforms.
• Experience with Agile, Jira, or similar project delivery methodologies.
• Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and testing.
• Previous experience working within banking, asset management, wealth management, or other financial services environments.
