This District Manager will be based out of our Invermere, BC location and be responsible for our Invermere, Cranbrook, Castlegar, Golden locations.
The District Manager, reporting to the Area Operations Manager, is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of propane and associated services within a defined geographic area. This role provides leadership to frontline teams, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The District Manager plays a critical role in aligning field execution with corporate strategy, driving performance through effective workforce management, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
What you'll do:
- Champion a safety-first culture and ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Conduct regular field visits and coaching sessions to reinforce Zero Harm principles.
- Maintain compliance with Department of Transport and enterprise HSE standards.
- Oversee daily delivery and service operations across the District.
- Ensure adherence to delivery protocols, route schedules, and service standards.
- Partner with Commercial and Marketing teams to address customer feedback and resolve issues.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of drivers, technicians, and plant/utility staff.
- Collaborate with HR and Logistics on seasonal staffing models and workforce planning.
- Drive accountability and employee engagement through clear communication and performance management.
- Manage district-level budgets and control costs, including overtime and fleet utilization.
- Monitor and enforce KPIs related to delivery, service, safety, and resource productivity.
- Provide frontline input to Finance, HR, and other corporate functions to inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure compliance with fleet maintenance programs to maximize uptime and reduce costs.
- Oversee infrastructure and inventory management, including propane tanks and parts.
What you bring:
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in operations, preferably in the propane, energy or utilities sector.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, operations management or related field is an asset.
- Proven experience managing frontline teams including drivers, technicians and service specialists within a unionized environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Effective communicator with experience in cross-functional collaboration across departments like HR, Finance, Logistics and Sales.
Salary: $100,000.00 annually (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).
