Principal Product Manager Vector Search

Lead Elastic’s vector search strategy with expertise in embeddings, hybrid retrieval, and AI infrastructure as a distributed company.As Principal Product Manager, you will guide embedding, reranking, vector database, and related capabilities. You will shape products serving organizations across Elastic deployments. Success requires product management experience with technical infrastructure, search, databases, or ML and AI platforms.Key Responsibilities:
Own vision, strategy, and multi-quarter vector database roadmapDefine embedding, reranking, indexing, and retrieval strategyPartner with engineering and research on technical trade-offsEstablish metrics for recall, latency, throughput, and index sizeCoordinate priorities across research, cloud, and engineering teamsRequirements:
Eight-plus years in product managementTechnical infrastructure, database, search, or ML platform experienceKnowledge of embeddings, ANN indexing, similarity metrics, and hybrid retrievalWorking knowledge of generative models and model fine tuningRecord shipping developer or infrastructure products adopted at scalePrincipal Product Manager candidates will connect vector search expertise with roadmap leadership, technical judgment, and retrieval quality.
