Material Handling Manager

JBS Equipment is a rapidly growing manufacturing company located in beautiful Mission, BC . We are looking for a Material Handling Manager who will oversee and manage the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within the company as well as oversees the management of unit shipping.

This working leadership role ensures that the right product is at that the right place at the right time, in compliance with efficient material handling processes and safety protocols and in support of departmental operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Supervise, lead and train team on day to day operations of receiving, staging and unit movement in the yard
• Manage and organize the yard layout to optimize best space as well as materials and product flow
• Prepare and process required paperwork accurately and on time
• Create, prioritize and manage the materials schedules and task assignments
• Investigate and correct discrepancies and missing parts and materials in any stage for the process
• Ensure the unit shipping is done efficiently, accurately and safely
• Implement and enforce safety guidelines, procedures, and standards for material handling and shipping activities
• Work closely with Warehouse Manager to confirm that joint Shipping and Receiving schedules and targets are met
• Continue to build and develop the processes in support of the production shops.
• Perform performance reviews and assist with hiring and firing team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKIILS REQUIREMENTS

• Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done in a demanding environment
• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a material handling or logistics environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear instructions and guidance
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping
• Forklift Experience required
• Experience with overhead cranes is an asset
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and operating equipment.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
