The Rural Municipality of Cymri No. 36 is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our office team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with financial information, and able to provide excellent customer service in a municipal office environment. Located in Midale, this is a 3-month term position with the possibility of extension. The position may be filled on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the successful candidate and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for ratepayers, vendors, businesses, contractors, government agencies, and the public
- Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting materials, and other municipal documents
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide administrative support to the municipal office
- Maintain records, filing systems, schedules, and office documentation
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, budget tracking, and financial reporting
- Coordinate meetings, training sessions, conferences, and other municipal events
- Conduct research, compile information, and prepare reports as required
- Support daily office operations and perform other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Previous administrative, bookkeeping, or municipal experience is considered an asset
- Experience with municipal software is an asset but not required Compensation
