Youth Pastor

Toronto Mandarin Chinese Community Church is a bilingual (English and Mandarin) multigenerational church with about 200 regular Sunday attendees. We are a member church of the Association of Christian Evangelical Ministries (Canada) (ACEM).

At TMCCC, our desire is to grow the body of Christ for God’s Kingdom purpose. We want our congregation to personally know and experience the love of Jesus, contribute in building a loving and caring community, be discipled and serve to share His Gospel and grow the Kingdom of Christ. It is to that end that the Youth Pastor will passionately serve and work to disciple our youth.  Under the leadership of the Lead English Pastor and supported by volunteer lay leaders, the Youth Pastor will be responsible for the development and oversight of our ministry to middle school, high school, and university students.

Primary Responsibility

• Develop and lead weekly programs for discipleship and outreach for our youth and university fellowships.
• Lead and teach youth Sunday school classes.
• Provide spiritual leadership through preaching and teaching, helping youth and young adults grow in their understanding of God's Word.
• Provide care and mentorship to our youth and young adults to help them grow as disciples of Christ in this world.
• Inspire and encourage youth and young adults by exemplifying and promoting a Christ-centered lifestyle, fostering a deeper commitment to Christ's mission.
• Equip and empower young leaders while identifying and nurturing new leadership within the ministry.
• Partner with parents to actively engage them in their children's spiritual development.
• Assist in the development and implementation of systems and policies for the youth and young adult ministries, ensuring alignment with the church’s overall vision.
• Support children’s ministry programs such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), Harvest Party, and Christmas programs when a Children Pastor is not in place.

Qualifications

Spiritual Qualifications

• A mature and godly Christian with a clear testimony of salvation and a growing personal relationship with God.
• Demonstrates Christ-like character, including love, joy, integrity, humility, faithfulness, and is teachable.
• Affirms and supports the vision, mission, and doctrinal statement of TMCCC and ACEM.

Ministry Qualifications

• Experience in Youth Ministry is required.
• Solid biblical and theological foundation with the ability to teach Scripture faithfully and effectively.
• Ability to disciple youth and help cultivate spiritual growth and leadership.

Pastoral Qualifications

• A genuine love and passion for youth, with willingness to invest time in building relationships and providing spiritual care.
• Ability to work alongside parents in guiding the spiritual formation of their children.
• Able to provide pastoral care, mentorship, and spiritual support to youth and their families.

Leadership & Administration

• Strong vision and leadership skills in developing and growing youth ministry.
• Ability to recruit, train, and empower volunteers and youth leaders.
• Capable of planning and executing youth programs, retreats, camps, outreach events, and special gatherings.

Personal Competencies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, energetic, and able to connect with youth culture effectively.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to manage time and ministry tasks independently.

Education & Other

• Degree (or working toward a degree) from an accredited Bible College or Seminary is preferred.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Cross-cultural ministry experience or understanding of immigrant family dynamics is an asset.
