QA Assistant

Aqualitas Inc. is a licensed medical and recreational cannabis producer, with our corporate Head Office located in Bedford, Nova Scotia, and our Production Facility located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia in the Region of Queens Municipality. QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSISTANT

We are currently seeking a skilled QA Technician at our production facility located in Brooklyn, Queens County, NS. Reporting to the QA Manager, you will actively contribute to and support the day-to-day efforts of the QA/QC Team across all departments at the facility.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting AQAP/QAP with reviews of batch records and packaging records for final approval
• Maintaining office filing
• Assisting with complaint investigation
• Providing appropriate documents to post-Production team when needed
• Site audit activities
• Final package label approval
• Preparing certificate of compliance and certificate of analysis for export
• Maintaining equipment calibration schedule
• Maintaining approved list of packaging materials
• Collecting, entering, and analyzing data from, as well as inspecting and monitoring as required for, various departments (Packaging, Sanitation, Cultivation), including:

o Packaging work data

o Finished product inspection.

o AQL In-process Inspection

• Supporting of QA Technicians when needed as below:
• Maintaining operations by strictly always adhering to company, industry and regulatory Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Good Production Practices (GPP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and reporting any required changes.
• Maintaining databases by entering new analytical results and QC testing data
• Reviewing data for deficiencies and working towards continuous methods to improve data management.
• Resolving deficiencies by following SOPs and consulting with QA Manager/QAP regarding incomplete documentation
• Always Maintaining strict confidentiality to protect operations and ensure customer confidence.
• Excise Stamps inspection / Shipping Inspection
• Status Labelling
• Cover another QA shift when required.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• Additional QA tasks as required, including:

o Training staff on activities

o Conducting line clearances

o Conducting swabbing on rooms and equipment

o Finished product Inspection.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science or related manufacturing experience
• Understanding sound quality assurance principles, statistical process control, sanitation
• Familiarity with pH meter and moisture analyzers, micro swabbing, and calibration of equipment
• Good understanding of GPP/EU-GMP, HACCP
• Experience with GPP/GMP Standards

Skills:

• Accurate and efficient keyboarding and data entry skills
• Knowledge of Excel software
• Keen recordkeeping, editing and documentation abilities.
• Superior time management and organizational abilities to establish entry and daily task priorities.
• Comfort level working in groups or individually.
• Comfort level of working with groups to collaborate and communicate.
• Self directed to know the needed schedule day to day.

Other details:

Location: Brooklyn, NS (Required); occasional travel to Bedford/HRM area may be possible

Compensation: To be determined based on skills and experience

Status and Hours: Full-Time (40 hrs/week)
