Casual Endoscopy Clinic Nurse

Our team of 700+ staff see clients virtually and physically from our downtown Toronto and Oakville clinics. The Role: We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy team. This individual must share our passion for delivering excellent, client-focused, expert care and have experience in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will possess compassionate care and communication skills. The candidate must work well as part of a team. The Accountabilities:

• Assist physician with procedure, biopsy and polyp removal
• Prepare the patient for endoscopy procedures, reviewing pre-anesthetic questionnaire and consent form
• Initiate peripheral I.V. Therapy and monitor
• Monitor patient throughout procedure and assist with client comfort and safety during examination
• Monitor patients in recovery room post-procedure from conscious or deep sedation and manage adverse events as needed
• Educate patients on post-procedure care as necessary
• Assist with monitoring and facilitating the flow of patients through the endoscopy clinic
• Coordinate with other clinic staff to ensure an exceptional delivery of service to the client

The Requirements:

• Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 3+ years of nursing experience
• Nursing experience in an endoscopy clinic an asset
• Prior Endoscopy procedure room experience is preferred
• Current BLS, Healthcare level and ACLS required
• Superior organization and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Outlook

This is a casual role that will typically be scheduled for 8-16 hours per week. The days may vary based on physician scheduling and procedures. Procedures are usually performed during the hours of 7.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. (Monday through Friday). The Endoscopy RN will report to the Team Lead, Year Round Care and Endoscopy Clinic.
