Are you looking for part-time work in an interesting and active workplace? Do you appreciate the routine of a job but still want time to yourself? Consider joining Proudfoots Home Hardware Building Centres in a part-time capacity at either our Stellarton or Pictou stores. Proudfoots is a locally owned family business that has been serving Pictou County since the 1930s.
These positions are for flexible personalities who enjoy the challenge of various environments. Responsibilities will include revolving duties between departments and operating the cash register. Your mix might be Hardware/Plumbing or Paint/Housewares/Seasonal. Training will be provided. Department work is a mix of retail tasks such as stocking shelves, price checking, tidying, cleaning, and dusting, all while providing excellent customer service. Experience is an asset but not essential; if you're willing to learn, we'll help you get there.
Requirements: Our preferred candidates are cheerful, hard working, and great team players. An ability to use computers is essential. Some lifting is required (paint cans, other consumer goods). Hours will vary but basically the commitment for these positions is 2-4 shifts per week (depending on your preferences/availability and our needs). Approximately half of that time will be daytime weekday work, and half will be evening and weekend work, with a mix of shorter (4 hour) and longer (8 hour) shifts. We're open to different work arrangements and have a number of shift possibilities. All staff participate in our bi-weekly bonus program and are eligible for an in-store discount.
